Oracle VM: Fancy having a go?

July 23, 2009

Oracle VM is the Oracle Corporation’s free, x86 server virtualization platform. Based on the open-source Xen hypervisor, Oracle VM Server supports both Windows and Linux guests.  Management is via a separate application – Oracle VM Manager, which sports a browser-based interface.

Oracle VM is the only certified x86 virtualization environment for organization’s enterprise products, such as Oracle Database – for information regarding the support status of Oracle products on the VMware virtualization platform, refer to the Xtravirt article “Support for Oracle Products on VMware” at http://xtravirt.com/xd10085.
