BCS Membership Approved

June 22, 2009

Over the weekend I got confirmation that I had been accepted in to the British Computer Society. This is great news. I have known people who have been members for a number of years and I am really looking forward to becoming an active member in local \ regional groups. If anyone reading this is a BCS member in the Surrey, UK area, then please feel free to drop me an email.

Dear Mr Davey

I am delighted to inform you that your application for Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status has been successful.  CITP is the hallmark of a true IT professional. Achieving CITP status demonstrates that you practise IT to the highest professional standards.

If you are not familiar with the BCS then please take a look

  1. Congratulations!

I think chartered status in our profession is important and a mark that it is maturing. It is also necessarily a difficult qualification to achieve.
